Your poll is trying to draw people into voting for Hetfield isn't it?

I voted for him. I think he is the best.. Yes yes.
#4
Hetfield went really crazy in "Master of Puppets" and "And Justice for All" albums. But I think there sure is someone better, who I haven't heard of.

So Hetfield IMO.

haha no i just wanna see peoples opinions and at the same as expressing mine

has to be Townsend, some of those people aren't even rhythm players really, I wouldn't call the edge a rhythm player, even though he does play with rhythm.

this is like trying to compare apples and oranges, you got malcolm young there (straight up classic rock/blues rock rhythms) vs james hetfield who is a metal guitarist, you see my point malcolm doesn't play metal and hetfield doesn't play classic rock.

but for his genre izzy had an incredible sense of rhythm but a very sparse way of looking at how a band preforms.

stop complaining peeps and just vote lol

because it is so important to know the best rhythm guitarist of all time. music is a very opionated subject, a metalhead will say a metal guitarist, a bluesman will say a blues guitarist, see where i am going with this?

Scott Ian and Dave Mustaine are the best rhythm guitarists in metal imo.

I really wish I could say you're funny and cool, but that would be like saying Africa doesn't have a poverty problem.

I think dave mustaine, because he writes all Megadeths material and he can also do some crazy solos.

James hetfield is a close second. this poll sucks btw, the styles are too different

I hate to be such a persistant little fanboy, but John Mayer can play blues lead/rhythm infusions like Hendrix, or straight Jazz, but where he comes into legendary status is when he plays those great Jazz/Pop rhythms.

So he gets my vote.

Jesus, the lack of exposure or experience with "other" forms of rock music is really showing here!
Moving on.....

Guthrie Govan!

What he can do with some of his rythm playing is better than some of the greats.

Though out of that list Mustaine is my favourite.
Iommi is up there, but I wouldn't peg him as a rythm guitarist. I can never call bands with one guitarist rythm or lead as they do both jobs. Same with Van Halen, though I'd argue he's a lot more lead orientated.
