If you like UG, you really like . It's online guitar tab player. It's really great to learn new songs. You can see the tab and hear the song as it is being played, thus you can get an idea of what it should sound like and how fast it should be played.

I can't believe I can play my favourite Nirvana songs!

EDIT: Rofl, their library is pathetic. I have more guitar pro files then their whole library, and of course mine come with the backing parts too.

In what situation do you envisage having a web based service be beneficial compared to a local application? I honestly can't think of one good use.

I haven't bothered looking, can you write your own stuff with it?
If not then it's infinitely more useless than Gpro/Powertab.
