I was watching The Daily Show last night, and his guest was talking about the economy in China. Somehow or another the question came up of what is China wanted to just straight up bone America, to which Jon said "wouldn't they just stop making all our crap?" For some reason that got me thinking, how many of my guitars a re made in China? As it truns out, all of them. My First Act, not surprised. MY three Ibanez guitars, I expected. My Ventura, wasn't shocked. But seriously, my Fender? I thought Fenders where at least made in Mexico. Apparently the only guitar in my house that wasn't made in CHina is my dads guitar, it was made in Korea. I'm thinning I need to get at least one guitar made in America.

Why do you need one from America? The ones from China are probably better quality anyway.
I play by my own rules. And I have one rule; There are no rules... but if there are, they're there to be broken. Even this one.

Look at all the guitarists without an American made Gibson/Fender that can say with honesty: "LOOK AT ME I IM GUDE AT GUITAR" and shred.

It really depends on what you want. To me, an American made perk is useless unless it comes with a lifetime guarantee and a promise of full tone, like Gibson promises.

Encore acoustic: China
Squier Strat: China
Fender Strat: Mexico
Washburn X50PRO: Korea

I do hanker for an American Standard Strat now and again, though .

Wrong.

huh? I didn't know that you got Chinese Fenders. I'm guessing that a lot of the electronics are made in China, but I thought the actual guitars were made in either Mexico, Japan, or America.

i would rather buy a wellmade chinese guitar by some guy on twelve dolla a day that some fat overpaid american .

Are you sure your fender isn't mexican or american? I'm fairly certain that only squiers are made in china.

Ibanez wouldn't be made in america anyway, its a japanese company

So? I think I'd prefer a Japanese made guitar over an American made one. Nothing wrong with American guitars though. My Ibanez is Indonesian-made, and it's likely my acoustic is Chinese. My electrics decent except for a few hardware problems, but my acoustic sucks. Also, I think some Fenders are Korean-made too. At least the Lite Ash Strats and Teles.
