I am thinking of upgrading my amp from a Fender Frontman 212 to a Crate tube amp.

Something in the $300-500 range that can outplay a drummer.

I play Hardrock/alternative mainly.

My current main guitar is a Fender Strat MIM.

Not limiting myself. That's what I was interested in at first.

How much Would a 1-12 Valve king Go for if They make on.

when i used one at GC, it wasnt muddy at all, (except at very low volumes)
then i ran a tubescreamer and it handled light metal/thrash very well.
i think it is a very very good amp for the price (if u fing one used)
used is about 150-200 maybe.
and they will never fail you, reliable as hell.

United States.

I like Avenged sevenfold a little. There is no artist in particular though. I like to write my own songs.

Crate V series > Valveking. The Crates are actually good, the Valveking can be decent if you do a tube change and a speaker change. I'm not one of the people on the "Valveking Hating Bandwagon" btw. I currently own the Crate V33 and I've had the Valveking 112 and it was not spectacular. It got the job done, but only just. The Crate is much better.

You should probably mug John Frusciante or Ritchie Blackmore. They're small guys, we could take 'em.

Just look out for that other guy in the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Will Farrel. He's a tall mofo, got a long reach.

The Crate seems like a better deal. Less $. I could put it towards new pickups or a Guitar.

Well, I'm asking because I'm trying to figure out what you'd like to sound like. Even if you write your own stuff, is there anyone you'd want to sound similar to.

When I play, I have a bit of a Deftones sound when I play the powerchords.

My solo's aren't great so I can't comment on them.

Sounds like you dial it in pretty heavy. You may want something with more gain. At 550 dollars, you have the Randall RG50TC.

I don't have $550. What if I hooked up a Distortion or Overdrive pedal?
