Anyone have this amp? I mean the special with the 5/15/30 el84, not the classic with the 10/50/100 6L6.

Impressions? I like blues to a nice classic rock crunbch, my ideal tone is simialr to warren haynes in govt mule, lots of mids, 30 watts is plenty of power for me, I'll buy a clean amp if I want one.

Budget under 2 grand, new > used, but mainly interested in hearing thoughts on lonestar special

i don't own it, but i liked the one i tried. very dear in the UK/europe, though (but much better value in the USA). really depends on where you are, i guess.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

amazing amp for all you're looking for. and you wont need a separate clean amp later on. the cleans on this thing are to die for. try one out if you can, and like Dave said, it all depends where you live. here in the states its a better deal.
Gibson Les Paul Studio
Highway One Telecaster
Dean Evo
Mesa F-50
Laney GH50L
Vox AC30 C2
Ampeg V2

yeah, definitely worth trying one. other thing is, i'd look into other amps too; at $1500 (or whatever they go for in the states), you have a lot of options, some of which you may (or may not) prefer to the lonestar special...
