So like, I'm watching streaming video on Surfthechannel.com... and sometimes the video just freezes and my computer locks up. Someone suggested I upgrade my browser to the latest version and I did but it still happens. Help?

Don't suppose it could be a graphics card problem could it?

you have low RAM and probably a low GPU card...time for an upgrade pretty much.
Temporary solution is run the Disk Defragmenter

EDIT: Didn't see the ram thing...you should jsut run disk Defrag and then run and antivirus first.

More information is needed here to solve anything.

What happens exactly when it freezes?
What browser are you using?
What operating system are you running?
Have you done a proper virus/spyware scan?
Is it isolated to this particular website or is it all streaming video?
How long does it take to freeze?

It stops mid-video, and my computer won't do anything.

Yes, that's usually what it does.

This could be one of many problems. If it is truly contained to this website it is some sort of software conflict causing your operating system to go nuts and freeze. I am not familiar with this website but often when viewing streaming video a website will make you download their proprietary video plugin. If this plugin is poorly coded it could create the problems you describe.

If that is the case i would try Internet Explorer and see if the problem persists. Other then that all you can do is contact the website about it.

However, anytime you get strange intermittent problems it could be caused by hardware issues. This could be an early sign of PSU problems or overheating issues. The likely hood of hardware being the culprit is Dependant on the age of your machine and how it has been used.

I hope this helps! Good luck!

I going to say the site is the problem.
I'd tell you to start torrenting, but now is a bad time due to a virus break out.
www.hulu.com is pretty good to stream a few things and i've never had problems with it.
It has ads, but it's better than nothing

If it's just that site then I'd just use another one for streaming videos.

If it's happening a lot I'd worry, sounds like a problem I had a couple of weeks ago, which resulted in my 7950gx2 dieing, making me have to spend £350 on a graphics new card and case, I got white lines every now and then too tho, so hopefully your not getting them and yours will be ok.
