I just got a new guitar for my birthday, it's a Jackson Warrior, and it's the first guitar I've really had with a tremolo. However, after playing it for several days, I think there's a problem with it. It's a Floyd Rose licensed tremolo, and even when I pull on it until I feel like I'm about to rip the bridge off, it only raises the note by a little more than a half-step. I don't have the most experience with tremolos, but I'm pretty sure that most of them can raise notes higher than that...

It's this guitar:

Anyone know what might be the problem?

Right, but can't you raise notes higher than just a half step...?

check to see if the bridge is parallel with the body. it should sit flat. If it is not you need to adjust the springs in the back so that the tension from the neck matches that in the bridge

So I'm right in assuming that I should be able to raise the note by more than a semitone?

the cavity that the floyd sits in isn't deep enough to get a higher pull, don't worry about it.
