Hey all,
I'm a pretty new member of the forums; I lurked around for a long time before registering though, and I always enjoyed reading the fun/interesting/helpful replies on this board.
Anyway, I've been playing bass for 3 years; I'm self-taught, and one of the things I like to do for practice is to play along with albums that I own; I don't use any tabs, I just learn stuff by ear. So, a couple months ago, I thought it would be fun to start uploading bass vids to YouTube. I have a bunch of covers up (some better than others), and I'm always looking to improve. I know I'm not the best bass player; still tons of things to learn...and I'd appreciate any input you guys can give me

These are a small sampling of the vids; you guys can feel free to give me feedback based on these, or any others you want to...thanks in advance ^_^

I can hear your bass just fine but it looks like you're playing with one finger...There's nothing wrong with that but I don't know a single bassist who only uses one finger.

Edit: Also, suspension and the tobymac song are a bit sloppy. I don't think you conveyed three years of bass playing in those particular songs.
I'm not saying they're bad though, in fact they're pretty good.

Yeah, that's something I can work on >_< - I usually play with 2 or sometimes 3, but sometimes I slip into playing with 1.

Sorry if the sound isn't always that great/tone isn't the greatest; I'm playing an Ibanez GSR205 through an ancient 30W Traynor cube. I'm working on upgrading the amp situation though =P (Got an Ashdown MAG 600H head, working on a MAG 410T cab)

The tone was a bit lacking but that's nothing you can't fix with a better rig.
lol, Don't worry about it, I sometimes slip back into playing with one finger when I play something slower or easier. It's nothing to be worried about.
Of course I've only been playing for a year so I don't know for sure.

Yeah =P
Also, the first 1 1/2 of my 3 years were pretty lame...I was playing on a 3-string Ibanez (don't ask, lol) that was older than I was and probably hadn't had a string change in at least that long. I only got the 5-string last January, so most of my experience is from since then. And some of my covers are a bit sloppy, since I don't always practice the songs a lot before I record; it's mostly from memory =P ...this is probably not the best way to do things, haha...
Thanks for the tips, I appreciate it. Anyone else?

Pretty Solid

all I can see is, Try to work on using your Fourth finger on your left hand more and making it a little stronger and more sure of whats its doing, which can only come through practise

and I saw you doing a bit of that ina lot of you're stuff

good timing

and Try not to wear shorts...
"Whats that noise??"
