I just go until I hit the 12th fret then back up to one. Use a metronome so you can keep the beat and when you think you're good enough speed it

I believe a certain amount of estimation is needed. I can't really rememeber the in's and out's of the workout but does he not do it in 1 hour segments? If so just figure out how much to do to keep things even.

I.e. If there are 10 exercises in a segment dedicate 6 minutes to each exercise.
