Don't buy a pedal for your Spider.

Digital+Digital never sounds good.

As the other guy said, save up and buy another amp

helpful advice take 2:

spiders dont take pedals well at all, theyre SS modellers.

youre potentially about to waste $100

perhaps the foot controller for the spider?

I am not sure why you bought a Gibson.
Might as well have gotten an Epiphone and upgraded pickups to some Gibson ones
You're just paying for the name, honestly.

What I'm saying is that you don't need a pedal.
It's gonna sound horrible.
That cash might be burning in your pocket but just hold on to it.

Sell your amp and I can suggest getting
Fender Super Champ XD(15W $250-$300)
BlackHeart little giant(5W $250)
Epiphone Valve Jr. (5W $250)

I would really recommend the Fender super champ
Nice modeling amp (From cleans to metal), some good effects

But that Spider is doing your Gibson no justice.

I've seen a 1000 watt bass amp before though, it's probably a bass amp.
But, i'd save up your cash if I were you.

I do admit, it would have been a better move to split the cash from the Gibson, and get a nice tube combo and still a pretty nice guitar. But, that's over and done with.

So, just save up a few more bucks and get a Crate V18 or something, those are on sale.

Toot toot!
All aboard the fail train!

You already have a phaser and flanger on your amp. Why do you need another? i'm guessing you don't like how it sounds. I'm a bedroom player mostly but I wanted to sound good. And btw, nobody makes an 1000 watt amp

wow! the ball busting going on here.

seriously guys its a little old now. he bought a nice guitar, and he has a practice amp. Leave it at that.

You would probably be better off just getting the footswitch for the spider to utilize its functions.

buy another amp
BUT if you must get a distortion pedal then get the metalcore or the metal zone.
they are both really good but the metalzone gets more intricate tones out of it than the metacore since it has a mid knob on it.

first i played the gibson that i own and a epiphone elitist and i must say i liked the gibson more.i had to pay a bit more for the name most likely but imo the gibson sounded better then the epiphone.and yeah i think the 1000 watt amp is a bass amp cuz know that i think about it my uncles son played bass and guitar so it was probably a bass amp.and i am gonna save the money i have now and look into buying a 7 string guitar.thanks for the guys who did suggest something

^well, you wanted to buy a pedal for some reason right?

Spider's are good practice amps I suppose but you saved up a ton to get your Gibby right?

Now you want to save for a 7 string guitar? Is that right?

I'm not bashing you, but there's something wrong with the logic here. Usually when someone says they want to put a pedal in front of a modelling amp we would suggest otherwise. I personally think you would be happier with an amp upgrade.

imo

I may have the first useful post here...

Reviews for that Phase 90...
http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews/Effects/product/MXR/EVH+Phase+90/10/1

I, as well, own a mid range guitar. And I have a Spider II 112. Probably same amp as you unless you have the Spider I or III.

I own the FBV Shortboard as well as a small array of pedals.

If you're playing in your room. Then shell out a few more and get one of the foot controllers. I'm guessing you can only get the FBV Shortboard since you want control over your effects.

Putting pedals before a modelling amp is a bad idea. In fact, I only pull out my pedals when I go to band practice and use my drummers guitar amp. (Peavey Classic 30)

Frankly the Spider sounds like total crap. But in my room it's all I need.

P.S.

1000 watt Ampeg. 5 seconds spent on Google.
