im not sure this is the right place for this but i didnt really know where else to put it soo...
for the last couple of weeks ive been taking my guitar to a "rock school" thing
but it means carrying it for about a 15mins walk
quite often when i go, its pissing it down, and the guitar bag i have isnt padded particularly well
i just wanna know
if the rain gets into the bag, can it damage the guitar in anyway?
thanks

Water and wood, take an educated guess. A bit of moisture isn't gonna destroy it, but it's not exactly good for it either

My fretboard is really soggy feeling, and doesn't have that tight feeling of other fretboards, because I went over it with a damp cloth. And this is like 3 months down the track.

tbh thats what i was thinking

just wasnt sure if the paint/varnish stuff on the guitar would protect it

anyways
any ideas on how to protect the guitar if i have to go out in rain again
ATM i just wrap it in some cloth which seems to do the trick, but it takes ages to do
im looking at maybe getting a hard case or just a padded gigbag thing
but i have no money
so i need cheapo solutions
anyone?

get a big plastic bag (or 2), like bin liners or something, and cover the bag from each end, secure with tape. Wouldn't take too long...
Why did Pat Metheney cross the road? He didn't, his hair got in the way
