I've recently bought a new bass guitar (Squier Deluxe Jazz Active V String, I'll put photos up later ) but I'm still playing trough a 15W practise amp, I'm useless at product searching and have no idea what any of the figures mean when it comes to amp (other than more W = more volume) and I might be getting some money in the next few weeks so can anyone recomend a decent combo for around £100? I can go slightly over but I really would prefer not to.

the five fifteen is actually 65w, though everywhere it says it is 100

Ashdown's site says 100W and they don't usually lie. It has an external speaker out, so maybe it needs another 8ohm cab.

Input Impedance 1 MΩ 1 MΩ 1 MΩ
Input Signal Range 100mV to 10V 100mV to 10V 100mV to 10V

the eight and ten are 15 and 30 watts on the side and are 15 and 30 there too...

mine was also from the ashdown site, there is a link on the five fifteen page to the practice manual. There you'll find what I copied.

the frontplate on the manual shows the ashdown logo and clearly displays 65W, whereas if you look at a picture of a new five fifteen it says 100W where it used to say 65 http://www.musik-schmidt.de/osc-schmidt/catalog/images/Ashdown5fifteen_5.jpg

So are these amps going to give me a significantly better sound? Or will it be barely noticeable because £100ish is a lot of money for me (I'm 16 and I can find a job).

for rock and metal they are perfect.

But if you play other kinds of music more frequently you might want another amp.

See how i put MIGHT there

I think I'll go with the Ashdown 515, it gets good reviews and is really cheap for a 100w (and J.Entwistle is my favourite bassist.)
Just so you know what I currently put up with, I have a Kustom KBA10X, 25w whixch gives me crap sound no matter what I use.
