Is this a joke?

Is that a ukulele in your pants, or did you just rip ass to the tune of "Aloha Oi"?

I met Sonic Youth on June 30th, and Mars Volta on Oct 20th.

Glasvegas, or so the magazines say.

I think they're alright, but every time I hear them I can help but think of them as a second-rate Jesus and Mary Chain.

...and I think Fleet Foxes will be huge within the year.

They're already big, aren't they?

They are like a metalcore Glassjaw.

Meh, nothing like GlassJaw, though. I am hoping that a little band known as "Geometry" gets big though. They have some good stuff.

Dragonforce

(I couldn't even say that with a straight face)

myspace.com/blacktide

they've got some good stuff (I especially like Shockwave)
I read somewhere that 77% of the mentally ill live in poverty. I'm more interested in the 23% who are apparently doing quite well for themselves.

1. Played with Metallica.
2. Headlined Taste of Chaos this year.
3. Seven charting singles.
4. Signed with Warner Bros.

Now c'mon.

These guys are f*cking hardcore brutal. The Devil Wears Prada is at an all time high in the hardcore genre, and they have great screamo/growl vocals, speeding bass drums, and great guitar riffs. Just like TDWP. They'll do great.

Whoever the BBC fucking picks for their list for next year.

Or who hits the top of the NME cool list.

Or whoever wins next year's road to V.

Basically this.

What does it matter?

MGMT is going to explode to huge levels. which is confusing because there are only 3 or 4 really solid songs on their album.

The NME cool list more follows the trends than determines what the tastemakers are going to push, doesn't it? I don't know. I don't read it.

For the 13 billionth time, I agree with you.
Didn't NME call a White Stripes album one of the greatest albums ever a month before it was released? How haven't they lost all credibility?

Battles

I LOVE YOU!!!
Honestly though I think if people sat and listened to Battles they wouldnt be so frightened by it. I let a diehard Oasis fan listen to it and he did seem quite scared of the musical ideas and then proclaimed that it wasn't music it was just noise. I then proceeded to slap him

NeverShoutNever! for me

Holy shit, I just looked up some of their music and I'm speechless.

That was some of the worst "music" I've heard in a long time, it wasn't even laughable, it was past laughable, it was like a trainwreck. Jesus.

I hear the Jonas Brothers are a motley crew of go-getters. They have yet to free themselves from the shackles of mediocrity in their current underground state. But I warn you, they're one record label away from the big-time.
