i broke my high E string.i got another pack of the same brand( earnie ball regular slinky). so I'm gonna use the e string from the other pack. but in a few months I'm gonna have to replace all the strings and ill be 1 string short for that pack. so does earnie ball sell individual strings? and if i use a d adario high E will it sound the same as an earnie ball one??

change all the strings now, keep the old strings in an old ice cream tub or something. if you break one of the new ones in the future use the ones in the tub.
But most music stores sell single strings.

i usually just wack a whole new set on if a string breaks...
unless it's only been like a week since i restrung...
then i go to a store/ebay and get a spare if i don't have one already...

No. I've personally never noticed a difference in tone between brands. I mix and match all the time. However, if the strings are made of different metals then the tone will slightly differ.

yeah, just get a loose string tomorrow.

if there are any problems when you string it up, then repost.

You worry too much. The guitar will be fine for a day with one less string, and it's up to you if you want to buy a single string or snatch one from your other pack or whatever. If it were me, like previously advised I would replace the whole set, and save the used strings in case one of the new ones breaks.

i went out and just bought a new string, restrung it. I guess when i trimmed the extra i cut it to short and the string came undone but it was long enough to re-restring it so its fine now. thanks for the help and the quick responses
