what are you're 5 top pedals. i'm trying to build up my pedal board and i'm just looking to see what UGers think are important to have on their boards. I don't mean individual pedals (NOT Big Muff, small clone, TU-2) but like, types (fuzz, chorus, tuner).

I love fuzzes, especially octave fuzz, but i'll put that in the same category.

So my top 5 are:

Fuzz
Overdrive
Compression
Chorus
Delay

disclaimer would be that i love fuzz however i don't find it very useful for anything other than playing around with, so basically, these FX are in the order that i like them, not in the order of how useful i find them. if it was these 5 in order of usefulness:

Overdrive
Compression
Chorus
Delay
Fuzz

Elixir Nanoweb 10-52 strings, Dunlop Jazz III XL picks

I am a huge fan of a good OD, so I would have to go with:
OD
maybe another OD
Reverb
Compressor
Delay

um id have to go with a tuner first off...idk how no one else came up with that, your live show must suck, haha
but after that, prolly just a wah and a volume pedal, keep it simple

Distortion is for people with crappy amps. Get a really good tube amp (or 2) and you won't need it.

Delay, Phaser (analog), Wah, Chorus, Compressor

Steer clear of digital multi-effects
