I am looking at buying a tube amp that uses 4 12ax7s and 4 6l6gcs. It's rated at 120 watts. Is is possible (meaning that it won't do any damage to the amp) to possibly run it with a couple tubes removed to lower the output? If so, would this require having the amp biased?

Whenever I clean my guitars, my family wonders why it smells so good; I say that I exude a fresh citrus scent from hidden orifices.

If you remove 2 tubes you have to be sure the remove the correct two tubes and connect the speakers at double the normal impedance. So if it's an 8ohm output then you have to connect it to a 16 ohm cab. If it's 16ohms output you need to connect to a 32 ohm cab.
