I put new strings on my guitar and the bridge went up about a3 quarters of an inch, but the strings i had on before didnt do this. why is it happening and how can i fix it?

Should be fine.
The bridge needs to be parallel with the body of the guitar. If you open up the back of the guitar, there should be about 3-5 springs attached to screws. Tighten the screws until the bridge is parallel to the body, then retune to standard.
Been away, am back

This only happens when you change the gauge. You probably bought a different string gauge than the original.
