Basically, i've been sketching some random cartoons, but wanna try and expand to more anime-style drawing...

For example: I DIDN'T DRAW THIS, it's what I want to draw

What i'm a bit stuck on is what "equipment" to use? I'm guessing a sketchpad would have decent quality paper needed, its more the drawing itself...

Pens? Pencils? What kind?

Any help appreciated x

I'd suggest going to a speciallist artists's supply shop and looking there. Ask the staff as well- they'll be able to tell you a lot more.

But for anime drawing I suggest-

Good quality artist's sketch pad (size is up to you)
A few soft pencils.
Pencil crayons/colored pencils (not kids' ones but proper ones)
A ruler
A soft eraser
Templates for shapes
A little posable model person for diferrent poses.

That should be enough for now
As for actually learning to draw manga, you should go to a local manga store and see if they have anything. There's even books of templates you can get.

You handle color very good.
You could try using photoshop for coloring and traditional ink for line art.
For example:

I use hb pencils for sketching and 2b for shading.
Speedball ink for inking.
And about 3-4 types of pen nibs.
