ok, so here i am again in GG&A..

birthday in about 3 weeks, and i need to know what to get

a new amp, which is the Line 6 Spider III 15W

http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/line6-spider-3/71375

edit: also, what about the orange crush 15?

http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/shop/flypage/product_id/12502/a/r/e/base

and don't try and offer different amps unless they're under £90 and decent

or a pedal to make my current amp sound better...

the ibanez wd7

£90 is about $150-160 ish.

Why is that a horrible amp? I use a Flextone III and I can get any sound I want from it. Of course it's not a valve amp, but in my opinion technology has improved much over the last couple of years that you don't really need a valve amp anymore.

That's because Flextones and Vettas are badass.
Spiders are the black sheep of Line 6.

TS, the Orange is pretty good.

I'm not a big fan of that pedal.

But, the answer is yes.

Edit - Also, Peavey has a new line of modeling amps called the "Vypyr" or something. I've heard good things about them. And, they're fairly cheap.

Don’t listen to the Spider nay-sayers, I have a 15w Spider and play mostly, U2 and Oasis with various others and it’s fine. It’s a great little amp. It does have lots of different sounds and tone. Get to a guitar shop and try out various amps, what’s good for one person will be not be so good for another, so the only way to tell is to try them out. But my Spider keeps me happy.

Save up, saving maybe 2x that will open up possibilities.

Maybe a Vox Ad15VT , no bad little amps, my Dad recently got one and its pretty good, only a little over budget as well.

My first suggestion is that you start typing in complete sentences rather than fragments. It makes things easier to understand.

Beyond that, some amps worth looking at are the Roland Cube and Vox Valvetronix line, but I'm not sure what you can get in your budget from them.

Feel free to call me Kyle.

Well in that price range I have to side with 311zoso, the V18-112 is probably the best amp available new at that price point. You may also be able to find a Epi Valve Jr used in that range, I always suggest looking used, you save money and get much better gear that way. But with this budget, or lack thereof, I think your basic options are...

Roland MicroCube - great little practice amp, tons of tones on tap
Vox Da5 - similar to the MicroCube in form and function, yet vox - so different.
Crate V18-112 - It's a one channel 18 watt all tube amp. Has enough gain for classic rock and has usable reverb. It's a good blues/rock amp with good cleans.
Used Epi Valve Junior - people either like this amp or hate it, would probably want an eq and od pedal to go along with it for gain at lower volume and some tonal control.
That's about it from what I know of, maybe some others can point you in some additional directions. Good luck.
#24
Although I would agree with everyone about the Crate V series recommendations, last time I checked, the sale was only going on in the US/Canada.
So, I say look into a microcube maybe? That will give you good portability yet decent tone.

In budget. Its the XL version as well which is better for metal/rock.

thanks, i was looking at vox amps, but couldn't find an in budget one.

and to the sentences person...

sorry about that

edit: im also going to be buying alot of effects, so i dont want too many built in ones.

is the vox still the best amp of the ones that you've recommended?

The flextones are good but the spiders aren't. i personally think nothing compares to a tube amp but there are many fine ss amps. Flextones, Vettas, Jazz Chorus' the list goes on and on.

TS, there is nothing really good in that range but maybe you could sell that pedal and get a valve junior? Other than that the Orange is best
