I searched, and couldn't find anything, but wanted to make this thread to see when musicians have surpassed your expectations for them. For instance, I was listening to Opeth's cover of Iron Maiden's 'Remember Tomorrow', and at the end of the second verse, when the chorus riff cuts in Mikael's voice goes really high-pitched, and I had to go back and listen to it again.

So, share your stories here!

The only advantage of home-schooling is that it gives you good reason to commit suicide.

Hit this once or twice, and you'll be twice as nice.

seeing bruce dickenson and iron maiden live. countless time throughout the concert you'll hear bruce's voice go insanely high like in aces high, or that last scream in run to the hills to go with the bass solo and you realize that seriously just happened.

Well since we're mostly talking about voices going high I couldn't believe Slaves and Bulldozers by Soundgarden.

Also Stick Around by AC/DC again when Bon has an epic scream of 10 seconds

I can't for the life of me remember the name of it, but there's a Devin Townsend song that's around 3-4 mins long, mostly nice acousticy ballad stuff.

Then there's a few seconds of silence at the end, and Devin just unleashes the most terrifying scream.

I almost fell off my chair

Fitter, Happier - Radiohead

Just calmly listening to the creepy robotic voice when THAT SOUND kicks in. Made me nearly crash while driving once.
