like gibsons and epiphones?
just a lower end, cheaper version

in alot of cases though,
as good.
just give me a fender and let me rip
#5
There's no better. It depends what you want.

The difference is that ESPs are made in Japan and LTDs in Korea. Quality standards are different too I guess.

I wouldn't say an Epiphone is as good as a Gibson, but like anything, the higher end Epiphones are probably about the same.

I know LTDs a bit better, and I can't say that they're pretty much the same, especially the higher end.

alot of the high end epi's are extremely good
and when you get that high, the main difference between that and a gibson is the name on the headstock
just give me a fender and let me rip

well a high end epiphone is better then a low end gibson...your just paying more for the brand...get a jackson...its better then both lol...well make sure it was make before fender bought them out...

what?

....ESP makes LTD....

put it this way
ESP=Fender MIA
LTD=Fender MIM

either way the LTD's are still great guitars but FYI the rule of thumb for the LTD's are 400 and higher and 400 refers to the # in the name look at the names and u'll know what i mean

There's more LTD models than ESP models if you don't count the signature ones. To me it's all the same.

Anything below the 400 series, aside from the spalted maple EX.

so would a 1000 EC series be almost of the same quality of a ESP?

LTD is much better compared to ESP than Squier/Epiphone are to Fender/Gibson

on the scale of 1-10 if the ESP model is 10 then the LTD is an 8.5-9 vary close but not exactly the same,

LTDs are the more affordable line of guitars ESP produces. LTDs are made in Korea (for the 400 series, 500 series, and 1000 Deluxe series) and also made in Indonesia (for everything else below the 400 series). LTDs are mass produced while ESPs are made in lower quantities. ESPs are made in Japan and the guitars are built and assembled by skilled Japanese guys and the wood is hand selected.

I wouldnt go as far to say that LTD is like a Squier because there are many high end LTDs that have the same features as their ESP counterparts.

The EC-1000 is a quality guitar, but of course you can't directly compare the quality to an ESP. You probably wont notice the differences from a first glance, but its the small little details on a quality guitar that separate it from mass produced ones. Either way, i would definitely go for an EC-1000 if that is what you are planning to buy.
