I bought a Jim Dunlop Elastic capo for a nylon strung guitar with a flat fretboard(and didn't realise at the time) and i have a steel strung guitar with (apparently) a curved fretboard and im wondering if it makes any difference?

i get a muted E but if i move it closer to the bar on the fret it sounds fine
