Grateful Dead's Fire on The Mountain track is in B, correct?

So I can use the B pentatonic scale, G sharp pentatonic, B ionian.

Now, the loop i'm working on from the song is B A, thoughs are the chord progressions.
Sense A is in the progression and A is the 7th note of the B ionian mode so.. does that mean i can take up with a mode that starts on the A note of that B ionian?

fire on the mountain is a great track to groove and practice improv to. but A isn't in B ionian, ionian has a major 7, half step below B which would be A#. its really B mixolydian, which has a b7. you could use the blues scale, or just use the straight diatonic scale, B mixolydian.
