I couldn't turn it at all with a normal screwdriver, so I got my dremel out and cut a slit down it so I could at least turn it with a flathead. It works okay, but I'm scared that I'm going to strip the slit I made and not be able to turn it at all.

Should I try to remove the screw completely and get a new one or not?

How do I go about removing it?

Just get a new screw man, it'll cost you all of $5.

But how do I get the screw out to change it? Just keep raising the pickup until it comes out?

I have the same problem, except the screw is inside the strap-lock button, making it impossible to get out.
Goddam cheap chromed screws, I should have stuck with the screw from the original strap button.
