A lot of college leaders actually agree with you, it was on the news a few days ago.

http://www.kansascity.com/153/story/756989.html

But you and your petition are stupid
If you're in a war, instead of throwing a hand grenade at the enemy, throw one of those small pumpkins. Maybe it'll make everyone think how stupid war is, and while they are thinking, you can throw a real grenade at them.

petitions never work.

the drinking age should be lower, but politicians are retarded so keep dreaming.

Yeah, because there's something so retarded in each individual state getting an extra 10% of their highway department funding...

POTHOLES FTW!!!

Wait... so in the US you have to be 21 to drink alcohol? I thought it was just buying alcohol.

If so, hahah in the UK you can drink alcohol at any age.

Alright... So it's awesome for every state to lose 10% of the money they're not using to fix the ****ty roads so a bunch of morons that are already drinking can LEGALLY do it?

I don't think so tim...

its 18 here in england, and i agree 21 is a ridiculous age, however, i shall not sign the petition because im not that bothered
RIDICULOUS BIG SIG!!!
#20
Hello this is *insert your countrys president/PM here* I have noticed your petition and i agreee with your demands.

#22
I signed it, but it won't do ****. The problem is that the only people who support lowering the age are either a) young, or b) teachers and college presidents who know why the current age is a problem. And c), Europeans. Unfortunately, those people aren't a very large fraction of the country, so the politicians won't touch the issue.

Is it just me or is there actually no link between the draft and the drinking age and that that petition will never achieve anything?

The drinking age should be higher, if legal at all.

sure only if we ban incesense and candles too. who knows they might give you cancer

21 is just ridiculous. It really should be 18, but this petition won't do anything. Also I live in Alberta, Canada, so I don't care.

You're right, because what these morons don't understand is that if they ARE in the military they CAN drink at 18 on military bases and war zones.

Edit: not that they should be drinking in war zones...

Protip: They want you to buy alcohol to 'spite the law'.

And just get fakes like the rest of us decent folks did when we were your age.

I don't think he was talking about the emotional toll (which is what affectation refers to) as opposed to the EFFECT (physical toll, i.e. being able to drink younger if the age were lowered) it would have.

People are stupid now without being drunk all the time, so why in the hell would we want to lower it..

Effect is a noun, affect is a verb.

I'm curious as to why some people in this thread think it should be raised.

i was thinking why not lower it for the same reasons. it will still happen to many people of many ages. my ex gf's dad let his 5 yr old drink bud and wine every now and then...
