Hi there,
I need help with amps for a gig. I just play for fun with my mates (another guitar and drums) using 15w modelling amps and zoom g2 effects - and that's where my knowledge of amps finishes. We now need to do a wedding gig in a hall for 50 people, probabaly our one and only gig ever. So what gear do we need for that? What about vocal - do we need a separate amp for singer? Mixer? Are we better off hiring gear or buying?
Thanks all.

you need a PA-system for the vocals.... thats for sure.. you can rent that without using all of the money you'll make on the gig... but for the other stuff. amps you can most likely borrow from a guitar shop or rent for a lot less than it would cost to buy it.. vox amps or fenders would most likely do the trick

good luck...

30w tube should do you fine, 50w if you play cleans more frequently. What's your price range and genre?
