With a filling sound to complete a harmony, and to fill out blanks in a song, almost like an acoustic, with a great clean, but also capable of being a good lead guitar for solos.

I need it to play in my band, is kind of altenative latin rock -I guess- heres the link to the bands myspace to give you an idea of the music and make the possible answer better. thanks, and sorry for the bad english. (Venezuelan)

Fender Telecaster. I own one and it sounds amazing clean and equally good distorted.

i'd suggest whatever you feel comfortable playing with and gives you the tone you like best
Phish Phan
DeadHead
Moe.ron
If there's a jam out there, I'm probably listening to it.

the tele would give you amazing cleans. i have a epiphone sg and am not really that impressed with it, but thats just personal taste. lots of people like the sg

It depends on the player

I'd say it relies more on your amp than on your guitar
'
leads and rhythms can be done on the bridge pickup anyway
I don't even shred

If you're a rhythm player you'll probably want something that's string-through or fixed bridge. It also depends on your style of playing. Teles and SGs are very versatile, along with strats, and even some of the new schecters. Just try different ones and see which one suites your style best.

Hollow bodies (especially ones with an ES-335 body like an Epiphone Dot) I find very nice
