Of those two, the blue looks better with the black trim.

Blue. The sunburst looks horrible with the black hardware.
Yes, I know everything. No, I can't play worth a damn.

No offence, but why buy an expensive guitar when you can't play power chords?

Out of those two, the midnight blue one. Not a fan of both to be honest.

EDIT:

just because he has difficulties playing power chords with a root on the 5th string, doesn't mean he's a bad guitarist. It could just mean he hasn't practiced power chords much

Blue looks better with the hardware. Looks like a really nice guitar, too.
I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.

I should have worded it differently - why buy an expensive guitar when you've only been playing guitar for 7 months. But hey, it's his money, and the blue one is better

I've been playing for 4 years, and I've still got a crappy starter(ish) strat. It takes me ages and ages to save up (Currently saving for a brutal looking Dean (lol dont know wich 1) and a Marshall MG100DFX), and then there are all of these threads about people that are new to the instrument looking at buying really expensive gear.

PS: I was joking about the Dean and the MG

They're not overly expensive.
