I've been trying to brush up on my 80s hardcore and so far I've got:

I Against I
Start Today/Self Titled (GB)
Judge Discography
13 Songs (Fugazi)
Descendants Discography

Edit: And now, also
Age of Quarrel
Break Down the Walls
Old School
The Kids Will Have Their Say
The Adolescents s/t
Repeater (well, it was recorded in 89...)
Total Recall

No Leeway reccomendation?

What other major albums should I be listening to?

coming to terms with an inevitable death.

Aveks will probably get back to you, however, in the meantime:

Negative Approach - Total Recall;

This was released in 1992 by that great label Touch & Go and is, as its title implies, a complete studio discography of the band. You should be able to find it on Compact Disc in most decent record stores.
Negative Approach successfully conveyed a lot of hatred and antagonism.

Although not "absolutely essential" listening you could also get the following album:

Adrenalin O.D. - Humungousfungusamongus;

Which was re-released on CD by Relapse Records in 2004.
AOD take a more humour-filled route to hardcore also-ran status .
