will the amp will explode or will it just sound plain crummy

Well I don't know, but I reckon if you had it under, lets say 9 o'clock it probably wouldn't hurt, or sound bad.

A little from column A, a little from column B.

...
Just get a bass amp, if guitar amps were for basses too then there wouldn't be bass amps, it's what they're there for.

just get a good bass amp, you probably wont need a guitar amp either then, at least for a while.

It'd be like petrol into a diesel car, similar but not the same.

no it wont do anything. when i got my first bass i played it into a regular guitar amplifier. ive heard that some people actually preffer some bass/guitar and bass amp/guitar amp combinations. bass amps dont have all the extra stuff guitar amps do so a regular guitar amp should work fine. if you seriously start playin bass then yeah u might wanna invest but in the meantime no damage will be done.
