Now ive ordered i fender strat MIA, but i haven't got a new amp yet, just the one i got free with my first guitar, the whole starter package was about £100, and the amp cost about £20 and guitar cost £80, so what i want to know is that when i use the Fender strat with the £20 amp will there be any real diffrence compared to the cheap starter guitar in terms of sound?

Thanks in advance.

It'll sound just as atrocious as the starter guitar did...buy a new amp.

**** amp = **** sound.

I have a 59 Gibson LP Custom, an Epiphone Zakk Wylde and an Epiphone Explorer, amongst other guitars... playing them through my ****ty Asian-made-with-spelling-errors-on-controls-and-cost-50-bucks-on-eBay amplifer, they sound absolutely terrible. Playing them through a Fender FM100 or a Marshall half-stack, they sound amazing.

So yeah... buy a decent amp.

Just get a better one when you can afford it, if your looking for something at the cheaper end of the scale check out the Epiphone Valve Junior they're £100 brand new and i'm sure you could get a second hand one cheaper than that if you kept your eyes open for a second hand one.

Edit: They also sound sick

There is nothing worse than having a great guitar that is held back by a crappy amp. I have up close and personal experience with that.

Oh ok, thanks guys i have some money for an amp now, but i think i'll wait till after christmas, so if i get any i can put it towards an amp. I'm thinking about getting a Laney.

Oh and the bands whose music i play most are probably, Oasis, Stone Roses and Arctic Monkeys.

If you can stretch to it a Laney VC30 would be great for what you want.

Just remember, thou shalt not pimp out a ****ty amp with pedals. Wasted money right there.
