Why do you get cold chills/goosebumps when you say for example see something amazing or something that you really like.

I was watching a video of Rush - Tom Sawyer Live and I got them then. I've had them numerous times in the past too.

Does anyone know what it is?

Physiologically, that phenomenon goes back to when we were cavemen and before. It's a physical response to being frightened, confronted or excited. Our hair follicles are stimulated to make our hair stand upright (goosebumps), to make our appearance look larger and therefore more formidable as an opponent (i.e. a dog or cat that is frightened). We humans don't have nearly the hair we once did (most of us), so all we see are bumps on our skin. It sounds like the reaction you're talking about is a powerful emotion or feeling from listening to a great song.

one time when i saw flogging molly a year or 2 ago, they flew a friend out from L.A. to Norfolk, VA, who just had lost his brother a few days before the show. they explained all this before playing "if i ever leave this world alive", that song alone will give you goosebumps but, seeing it live and seeing that guy completely breaking down and the band also crying was just an amazing moment, probably one of my most favorite/heartfelt concert moments.
