Hi guys. I can´t find the picks that john mayer uses with his Electric Guitar...
I want to know the "size" (mm, inches) and the brand.
I need your help for this!
Thanks in advance!

Seriously? Picks aren't gonna make you sound like John Mayer. Go buy a bunch of sizes and styles and see what you like best.
I don't give a shit if you listen to me or not

Well, it's because he almost never uses a pick. He's mostly a finger-picker.
- Fender American Standard Ash Telecaster w/ DiMarzio Chopper T & Twang King
- Alhambra 5P
- Laney Lionheart L5T-112
- Line 6 POD XT
- Suhr Shiba Drive
- MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay
- Dunlop Cry Baby

Not much anymore...

Mainly on his older, acoustic stuff.

I think he mainly uses quite thick picks, just regular duncans 1,5mm or so, that will do the trick.

You don't need to bump a thread after 8 minutes.

Why does it matter what picks he uses? Why not use what kind of picks work best for you?

It matters. If you´re a guitar player, you know that the pick changes the final tone and confort of playing guitar.

Different picks have almost zero effect on tone. The amp has the most effect on the tone, followed by the player, followed by the guitar and it's pickups.

I agree on the comfort part, but that's totally up to you. What comfortable to mayer may be agony to you.

Yes and no. Take a thin and a thick pick, and try different materials and you'll hear a distinct difference in each.

I think you're right on this, when I saw him on tv at the Grammy's in '07 if I remember correctly he had a yellow pick in his hand.

My friend caught Mayer's pick when he played in Ottawa. It's a Yellow tortex.

Ok thanks! The exact ones I like to play too... Interesting lol. And Kevin Saale, you already should know that the pick is important too. Not only the amp and all the electronic.

Mah, he's really into Mayer, he'd probably make a shrine.

Or, I dunno, use it.

He'll probably convince himself that he'll magically play better with Mayer's pick.

Wouldn't most people? Its all in the pick man!!! If I could just get the right pick, I wouldn't be messing up those solos and hitting the wrong string everytime!!!!!!
