I bought a new Ibanez acoustic guitar and it has 2 outputs for its onboard pickup. One is XLR, and one is the 1/4 inch. Which one should I use?

I also bought an ART mic Preamp I'm going to be testing out today. What would be the optimum configuration for this setup? The guide to the preamp doesn't have a diagram, just info on what the in/outputs do.

Any help you guys can give me is greatly appreciated!
...because the last thing the world needs is another metal guitarist.

I like Fall Out Boy. I don't like you.

What are you plugging it into? A guitar amp? 1/4". A PA system? XLR.

Now I'm not sure so don't take my word. I'm not the most technologically savvy when it comes to guitar technology.

chances are one is a 1/4" TS (unbalanced) to plug into a standard acoustic guitar amp.
The XLR output is most likely for running to a recording interface. Most studio gear uses XLR since it is balanced.

Read the manual or download then read it for your pickup. It should state what each output is for.
