I've been playing guitar for about 2 years now and I'm starting to getting into folk music.
Could any of you recommend some beginner/intermediate folks songs that could be played with an electric guitar?

EDIT: I can get hold of an Acoustic if absolutely necessary.
As my one of my old guitar teachers used to say, "Metal really comes from classical music. The only difference is pinch harmonics, double bass, and lyrics about killing goats."

I'm big on Metal and Hard Rock, but I like something softer from time to time.

Try looking for music for old folk standards.
R.I.P. My Signature. Lost to us in the great Signature Massacre of 2014.

That's the problem.
I really don't know the names of any folk songs.

First get an acoustic guitar then look into Woody Guthrie, Ledbelly , Odetta, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, and Joni Mitchell.
