You are the guitarist in a band. You have been playing in this band since forever and they other members of the band have been your best friends since childbirth. You have recently gained local success and have been signed to a minor label. However, this is as far as you will ever get. You will be popular amongst the local crowd, but will never become worldwide famous musicians. However, the local popularity gives you the money to live well enough without another job.
But something just happened. Somehow, randomly, voiding the concept of space and time, your favorite band has just asked you to go on tour with them for 6 months. You will be circling the globe and play many venues. However, your band tells you they will hate you for the rest of your life and you will never be able to join the band after the tour ends. You will also be forced to leave your favorite band after the tour ends. You will not be offered to join any other famous bands.

You are given two choices:

A) Join the band for 6 months, but then go back home to no band and no more fame. You will have to start from ground up all over again with a new band.

or

B) Stick with your best friends for life and keep the local band going strong.

A. If they're going to kick me out, then **** them. That's selfish and childish. Besides, after touring with a famous band, I'd get my name established hopefully.

Buy fresh sliced deli ham and stop being a bitch. Also, never microwave ham ever, it's in strict violation of ham law.

A. i get to play with my favorite band? for six months? yeah id choose A and then when i came back and everyone was like, that guy is sick on guitar i saw him with .... then my bandmates would be like, Psych we tots know that guy, and hes our bud.

I agree with frottage, if your offered an opportunity like that your friends should be happy for you, not tell you they will hate you forever. Given the choice i'd tell my friends to **** themselves and go on tour!

A. That would be the opportunity of a lifetime, and if your friends would hate you for taking that opportunity, they are completely selfish, immature, and they're not really your friends. Yes, I prefer playing for fun over playing for money and fame, but it wouldn't be much fun knowing your bandmates are complete assholes.

How old am I? If I am young, I'll go with A, just because I want to get experience with it, but B if I'm older because I want to get a good living off of something I enjoy doing.

A. first of all it's not the 80s anymore, doing such thing wouldn't tag you as a "sell out" anymore, it'd be "a wise career move". if an opportunity like that comes of course i'll take it. if you honestly know you want something in life your gonna have to make sacrifices.

Real friends would be excited for you, and support you and embrace you when you come back. It would also help their musical careers as well if you rejoined their band.
#18
after going through that fame, it would actually be a better decision for the band to let the person back in.... that much fame will boost your local band's popularity, and it could skyrocket....

and you only have one life to live, why live it with a bunch of dicks??

Well givin the limitations stated in the first post I'd probably go with B.

However, I'm fairly certain it wouldn't go down like that and I'd be able to rejoin the band with my bros.

The popularity you would get for playing in a big band like that would likely skyrocket the popularity of your lesser known band. In this case A would be the sensible choice for me.

Those friends sound like douchebags. I'd go with A. A true friend that's worth keeping would be excited for you and welcome you back with open arms.

C, buy the label producer porn star. Porn star pleasures him. My 6 studio albums in which none of them have anything to do with me playing on them get me millions of dollars and I win
#27
B cause i take bros before money..... plus after a while you would probly get into other bands locally that could get famous if your that famous locally.
#28
My friends are total douches if they begrudge me that opportunity. I get new friends, go on tour.

Tour with Maiden... Yeah, that'd be the route I'd take. My friends would have to take me back afterwards anyways, I'm better than all of them

B, although I left a band simular to that mentioned last year, it was cause of family commitments I had to move!

Dude I got these strings the other day that couldn't be tuned to higher than 4 octaves below middle C then I realized that they were shoelaces and they weren't making any sound at all.

You obviously wouldn't know that you couldn't get any farther with the current band, nor would you know that no other famous band would ask you to join. Flawed poll, TS.

Given your outline though, i said A.
