Anyone tried the Jack Hammer or Guv'Nor Distortion pedals by Marshall? I'm not buying this becaujse its 'Marshall' or because i want my SS amp to sound tube. It's just cheaper and ive heard good things about it.

So... What do you think?

I said im NOT buying it so it sounds like a tube amp. I know there is little i can do to make an SS amp sound like a tube amp... I just want to know if anyone has any experiance with the pedals...

EDIT: Is that you Ben?

I only have experience with the Jackhammer. It can get nice blues tones right through to fat, chunky metal tones. The distortion setting is very muddy tho; the OD setting is where it's at. A friend of mind had one and used it through his MG's clean channel and it didn't sound bad. Great pedal for the price.

A friend of mine has one through a decent-ish SS amp. It sounds really bad.

On my tube amp, however, it can sound very, very, nice if tweaked (very much like a cranked marshall - nice mid gain as well).,

Try it out on your amp before you buy.
