What should be on my pedal buying list?

So far I have a Boss Noise Gate, Chorus, Heavy Metal Distortion pedal plus a Behringer overdrive.

I'm thinking of getting a Boss tuner and EQ

What do you play? An EQ would be a pretty good idea and a wah is generally part of your basic pedal layout.

I would say an echo (analog preferably), reverb, or as Soul Power suggested, a wah. EQ should really be left to your amp/distortion pedal to colorize.

Also, don't be afraid to buy a pedal that will last you too. I have a Holier Grail reverb pedal and it honestly is one of the best investments I've made in guitars.

I'm into 80's heavy metal and classic rock

I'm more of a rhythm player than a lead guitarist

Wah, really nice for adding a bit of flavour to solos (only if tastefully done ) also could go for a good EQ, like the MXR 10 band

A better overdrive should be on the shopping list, the aforementioned EQ pedal is also a great investment and a chorus will come in very handy.
