so... post examples of where bands have ripped off/copied other bands!

for example stolen riff's or melodies and such(post youtube videos if you can)

GO!
NOTE: In this story I don't remember wich bands were involved, so sorry about that

I'll post one(kinda) just to get thing's started

one day, my brother came home for the weekend and he had some CD's with him.
later that day my brother asked my/his dad if he could show him some music.

my dad said OK and my brother gave him one of the CD's he had brought.

the song played to the end, but at the end my dad stood up and went over to his huge music collection and pulled out one of his own CD's(mostly stuff within 1950-1990) when he played the CD you could hear a melody wich was pretty much the same thing as my brother had played earlier.

(I used the searchbar and I could not find much so please don't flame me)

Saliva ripped off the main riff from Tool - Crawl Away. Not sure the name of the Saliva song cuz they are lame, but I remember hearing it and it was exactly like the Tool riff....

"come as you are" by nirvana is just a slowed down riff from some song in the 80's and the band was threatening to sue Nirvana, but dropped the suit once Kurt died. I heard a program on the radio a while ago about stolen riffs and stuff, pretty interesting, but I've forgotten most of the songs they talked about.

Also, Jay-Z ripped of most of his **** from The notorious BIG. There is a track around somewhere that shows this. Just shows how pathetic that faggot is, yet he is still banging Beyonce.

Although I despise both bands, my sister doesn't believe me whne I say that the verse melodies for the vocals are damn near exactly the same.

there are some SOAD and SlipKnoT simlarities i've noticed but i don't think any of them are rip offs.

There's a part in Only One by SlipKnoT that sounds like a part form Forest by SOAD,

and there's a part from Welcome by SlipKnoT that sounds like the chorus of Ddevil by SOAD.

Those are some thing I've noticed.

I don't know... that's just how Beck is though really.
