Can someone please explain to me what I would need to make my own sustainer for my guitar? I found all these diagrams but don't know what the **** they mean.
Do you want a sustainer type pedal (compression or fuzz types?) or like a fernandes sustainer - there was a thread just the other day on an ebow - which can also give you a certain degree of 'infinite' sustain.

^ plus a well-designed and constructed guitar. My G&L Legacy and L-2000 sustain for decades.... even unpluged, and both are bolt-on necks.
IMO, the Boss compressor/sustainer makes your guitar sound like it has plastic weed-eater strings.
