I've noticed that quite a few UG'ers have quite a dislike of American Country music, however I have a wee bit of a passion for it. So I was wondering if anyone could recommend some American Country music or Americana.

I'm a huge Johnny Cash and Chris Knight fan which is sort of the reason for my love of the music

.P.S. if this is the wrong place to ask I'll move the thread

johnny cash isnt real american country, thats like a old rock folk. and alot of "modern" country in north america is like pop country and it sucks. the old stuff is what is almost considered underground cause no one ever talks about it. but most of it is whiney guys who cant get girls cause there pen0r is too small. i dont like country but i like knowing about it cause its a little intresting.

Hank Williams Sr....

I love Americana music. I am extremely interested in the "purer" forms of American music, country, bluegrass, etc. I really enjoy them.

It's just the modern "pop" country where it's basically a crappy rock band with a fiddle (there are exceptions however) that I can't stand, and most UG'ers probably can't stand.

Me too

I like country music, you just gotta find the right stuff.
You are like a hurricane
There's calm in your eye.
And I'm gettin' blown away
To somewhere safer
where the feeling stays.
I want to love you but
I'm getting blown away.

Brad Paisley usually impresses me with his guitar work.

Plus, he's got a great sense of humor.

Listen to Time Warp by Brad Paisley. It's amazing.
