I am supposed to write a paper on a person with integrity that is alive. Basically, the person with the most creative "person with integrity" gets extra credit. So I figure that it would be cool if there were any artists that exemplify a few of these rough guidelines:

- Consistent message
- Courage
- Stands for something
- Maturity (Wisdom)
- Vision (the way things ought to be)
- Affirms the worth of people

These are what my teacher said John Paul II had so someone we are doing the report on should have a few of these qualities. Any ideas? I am also open to non-musicians but I think it would be cool to see if I could find a musician that is alive, and with integrity. I was thinking maybe Clapton, but there is nothing to special about him other than his Crossroads charity thing for people who are alcoholics.

...because the last thing the world needs is another metal guitarist.

My band.

I like Fall Out Boy. I don't like you.
Bono. He gets on my nerves on occasion, but he definitely exhibits all of those characteristics you just listed.
While looking at a guitar magazine with some friends.

Don't you understand the importance of correct spelling and grammar? It's the online symbol of maturity. And you as sure as hell don't have that.

David Gilmour, based off of being in Pink Floyd, being awesome, and not OD'ing.

Edit: Ted Nugent would be a great choice too, that man is a pimp.

John Lennon is kind of....dead.....

John Mayer?

You may hear mixed messages from the news or think he's a tool, but give his blog a read, and look up some of his youtube vids from like LiveEarth and stuff.
Walt Whitman.

He was 30 stories tall and born in ancient Hong Kong.

The Mitch Clem formula
1)make jokes about rancid and NOFX (as if they dont already make fun of themselves)
2)make obvious punk puns, possibly related to food
3)make fun of Rancid and NOFX again
5)PROFIT (and an army of internet fanboys)

Yeah I'd second Michael Stipe and R.E.M. in general.

They've been involved with charities since the start, split money with eachother straight down the middle avoiding ego clashes, never sold out in terms of allowing big corporations to use their songs in ads, etc.
