I have been playing for about a year and a half playing songs and everything but I am starting to want to write my own bass lines etc... and I am kinda lost to where I should start anyone have any advice tips videos to help me out would be appreicated

Do you know any scales? That would probably be the best place to start. Or learn to tell what key a guitarist (or w/e instrument) is playing in so that you can go along.

i would say the best thing to do is just doodle around on the bass. make up things while practicing. if your stumble on to something you like keep going with it and expanding. scales are good. keep learning other music as well. i like to compare it to english. learning new songs and techniques is like increasing your vocabulary, when you do this your better able to express yourself. good luck writing your own stuff dude.
