Its possible that they have more comfortable necks for faster stuff/thinner necks.

But I'm a bassist, & TBH, I've never played an Ibanez guitar...

Because although I don't own one, they are the most comfortable necks I have ever played. Before that, it was a strat owned by my uncle, but every Ibanez I have played, including acoustics are ridiculously comfortable. Also, they are fitted with the right pickups for that kind of music, but I'd say comfort is the main thing.

1. Yngwie uses a Fender Strat.
2. Pat Metheny uses an Ibanez artcore.
Not always about speed.
I've almost finished.

They are not all about speed. Look at Pat Metheny and George Benson. They are not shred guitars like they are stereotyped to be. This is also the wrong fucking forum. Take it to EG.

petrucci uses musicman.

and i personally hate ibanez

you have to remember bands like mastodon who use gibson
machine head who use gibson and ESP
metallica who use gibson/jackson/ESP
dave mustain DEAN/ESP
dimebag DEAN
Alexi Laiho ESP
Kerry king (although ****) uses BC rich (and GOD knows why... but wont tell us because he hates us all apparently)
Arch Enemy ESP

So maybe its no ibanez conspiracy

maybe theres an ESP conspiracy?

hmmmm

There's no getting around the fact that Ibanez have extremely slim and accessible necks. Anyone who tells you otherwise is an idiot. Although it should also be said that Ibanez are not the only company that boast fast necks.

Yes, I'm an Ibanez user.

practice=speed

This!
Although my Ibanez has the most sexual neck ever, which makes me want to practise more. Its just so comfortable, and they come set-up very well. Any guitar can play like an Ibanez with work on the action though. Its a combination of comfort, Playability and Practise which make you faster imo

Fast hands = speed.

It's just that many fast shredders prefer thin necks like Ibanez and Jackson. That's probably why they advertise "fast necks". Some actually prefer thicker necks, and play just as fast.

I like fenderish, medium-thin but round necks.

Well Petrucci doesn't use Ibanez anymore. He has his own Ernie Ball model.

Anyway, I do find myself playing faster on Ibanez guitars (when I borrow my friends' Ibanez guitars). It's most likely the neck.
