what will it do to my tone, & what can i expect it to sound like?

im using it with my 5150 of course, so what can i expect?
and what should my pre-gain & post-gain be on?

when people say they use these to "tighten & boost" a tone...whats that really mean?

you probably dont need a tubescreamer if you have a 5150...and that would be ALOT of gain

By tighten, it means that the amp makes your amp sound a bit more focused. The boost means that it really pushes your preamp tubes into saturation.

It's all subjective but I say you'll get a better tone out of it via boost.
