I am thinking about buying a 5-string peavey ths weekend. it is 700 dollars. it has active pickups and it sounds nice. i was just wondering is it worth it?

if so, get it.
like Deliriumbassist said, Peavey has very solid build quality.

when i went looking for this guitar there was a blue millenium five string but it was not active for $500. He told me that the active feature was the price difference. im not sure if it was US or Indonesian. i will check when i see it again.

Wa it a minute... just realised that your username gives a clue as to where you're from :p I was thinking US with the dollar usage, but remembered Canada uses doillars too. Although I'm pretty sure the US dollar is worth two Candian.

US shop with shipping to Canada: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Peavey-Millennium-5-AC-BXP-5String-Bass?sku=511402. Half the price. Don't ask the buyer if it's US, just look. As I said, back of the headstock, with the serial number.

And here's a US made one: http://www.elderly.com/vintage/items/55U-4122.htm. Note the different headstock, and pups.

At this point in time, the Canadian dollar is worth MORE than an american dollar. That's really saying something for our economy, isn't it? Anyway, I predict that you're just getting ripped off on an Indonesian Peavey, TS. My vote goes to not getting it unless you're sure it's a USA model.

Be sure to rape the blue note (augmented 4th). Rape it hard and exploit it like the skank it is.

Aye, if it's the Indo model, just get it off the net. At least you've tried it, and it is a solid bass for the (real) value. It's been my main bass for 4 years now.
