You do it from the bottom of your lungs and diaphram. It will be very quiet at first, but with practise you can make it louder. Unfortunatley, a side-effect of screaming regularly means that your voice suffers severely because it isn't natural. Dave Grohl probably gets away with it because he doen't use screaming as his main style of singing (I've never actually heard him screaming :S).

scream singing... i think of Chester Bennington...but either way... some people have a stronger voice than other people

i dont think Dave Grohl screams as in the metalcore/whatever genre, i think his is more like shouting, and he doesnt do it all the time so i think thats why it doesnt damage his voice

Its all in proper technique, Just use ur diaphragm and never use your throat. Its just like proper singing technique.

please listen to the "how to scream" tutorial in my profile. if you've really been classically trained then it should be no problem for you. no it should not hurt, never ever for any reason at all should it hurt. if it does then you're doing it wrong. also if you have a vocal coach they should more than likely be able to advise how to do it without hurting yourself.

This is just plain wrong. If you're doing it right, it shouldn't hurt.

Are you talking the Saosin and Circa Survive type of shouting?

I'd like to learn that too

Guys I think the TS is talking about singing with lots of aggression?

Regardless, there is a thread in Musicians Talk for vocal questions. Please ask in there.
