hey,
well im looking for a tube amp that could do fusion and shred and metal. i would perfer if it was a combo maybe a 30-50 watter.(this would be my first tube amp) people have recommended before the mesa boogie f-30 or 50 but i haven't found one. i need a amp with fenderish like cleans and mega distortion for metal and shred.

the players i listen to for fusion are:
allen hinds,scott henderson,greg howe,guthrie govan,frank gambale
metal:
protest the hero,cob,dream theater ect...
shred:
steve vai,joe satriani,paul gilbert,john petrucci ect....
i'm looking for a amp that can give me a really smooth distortion(high gain) for lead and for rhythm really big bite/rawr.
i know im asking much but even if i can get something close to what im asking ill be happy.
thanks

Either a Carvin V3 or Legacy if you're buying new.

Because shred has 0 feeling, amirite?

Anyway, TS, I'd recommend a Budda Superdrive or Peavey JSX.

the problem with carvin is i can get to try out the amp first before the purchase.

i found the bugera sounded thin to me and i didnt like it i tried the a-100 and 6262

also the legacy goes for 700 NEW on carvin.com lol

Randall RM50b combo with Blackface and XTC/KH3/1086 modules.
Signatures are overrated.

V3
if not that, then the legacy is good too, but be careful how you EQ it, it's more of a lead guitarist amp, the cleans are great, the distortion gets muddy when you play rhythm sometimes though, it depends on how you EQ it

same thing with the V3, which is what i have. I happen to like it A LOT.
i thought the distortion was grainy at first, but it turned out that i was just playing too quiet, it's a loud one.
AND you have to play with the EQ as well, if you don't have much patience for EQing, don't get this amp, the amount of knobs it has will just give you a headache
