Could i use a 3-position mini toggle switch (on-on-on) in place of a three-way pickup switch? can anyone provide me a wiring diagram? im not too familiar with these mini toggle switches, i know ive got 3 gold ones sitting around that were 12 dollars or so each... haha.

if it's on-on-on then yes. The middle tab should be the output and outer tabs should be one each for a pickup.

having a multimeter around means that if you're not sure, it's totally easy to check.

^ just like he said.
I actually have one as a selector on my bass. It works great and doesn't take up nearly as much space so it can be neatly tucked in the with controls, which I find very ergonomically and aesthetically pleasing.
