I joined a band recently and I'm probably going to need a new amp pretty soon. I haven't tried any out yet, but based on reviews and general opinion on this forum, I'm kind of leaning toward a Peavey Classic 30 or 50. I'm not sure how much power I'll need. The drummer is pretty loud, but we're probably going to get a PA. My price limit is about $400, but I can go a little over that if I need to. I plan to buy used.

The main guitar I'm looking into is a Les Paul Junior. Eventually, I'll probably end up getting a strat and something with humbuckers.

Anyway, I'm going to try a Peavey Classic. I might try a Fender Hot Rod or something too. What else should I try? Here are some tones I like:

Clean channel cranked to 10:

Clean channel with fuzz distortion:

I also play pop-punk sometimes. Green Day, etc.

I don't have to replicate any of these perfectly, but these are some general sounds I would like to get.

Edit: I just realized this should be in Guitar Gear and Accessories. Sorry. Mods, feel free to move it.

Sorry to bump, but I'm going to Sam Ash tommorrow. Does anyone else have an opinion?
